PROFESSION: Interior Designer @ NW3 Interiors
If you weren’t an interior designer, what would you be?
I’d like to think I’d be an artist of some sort… jewellery design or textile designing.
What’s your decor style?
Modern and clean with a balance of colour, texture and detail.
When one walks into your home, what is the first thing that they will notice?
My hallway wall which has very useful shoe storage and a wall with over 100 images of my family and friends.
‘Raaga’ is a Sanskrit word that means beauty, melody & harmony. Which are some of the pieces that bring ‘Raaga’ to your home?
My wallpaper which are trees, butterflies and flowers in my glassroom. The energy is very zen and peaceful.
Any decorating tricks you swear by?
A third plain, a third patterned, a third textured.
Which is the one thing that you picked up on your travels that holds a special memory for you?
My buddas from Asia. It’s where my husband is from. Although this can be controversial as some do not agree with displaying Budda’s in homes, for us it is acceptable.
One decorating technique you’d never use?
Painted marble effect. looks awful. Buy the real thing.
What is your source for design inspiration?
Visiting beautiful hotels for example Le Royal Monceau in Paris recently refurbished by Philippe Starke. It’s heaven within 4 walls. So clever, so beautiful. He is a genius.
What is your favourite trend for this season?
Mixing woods and metals i.e. copper with brass and oak with walnut.
Describe your perfect Friday evening at home?
Playing cards with my kids and husband. Drinking Woodford Whisky and ginger ale. Candle on with my fire on too. Playing chilled house music.
